Yesterday, after playing outside, the kids came in and were watching a movie. They were pretty worn out, so they all just sort of zoned out. I pulled out my camera and started snapping away. I think they get sick of my camera, but that’s too bad. 😉 I love the high ISO abilities on my 7D. It was pretty dark in the room (we do not have very good windows in the living room), but I just bumped up the ISO and got these great shots without a flash. 🙂
Random Photos On A Saturday Morning
I took these one Saturday morning while we were all hanging out. “Dora” was in the DVD player, that’s why the kids all are staring off into space. The boys claim to not like “Dora”, but that doesn’t stop them watching. 😉 Olivia was wearing her 72 hour kit backpack. Brian was on the computer. You can see that Caleb, despite being distracted, still managed to give me a “posed” smile. Not a lot happening that morning…. 🙂
Taylor’s Graduation
After Taylor’s Birthday party, we headed out for his Graduation. There were 486 in his graduating class. It was a pretty big event. We were no where near him, but I tried my best to get some photos. 🙂
Taylor’s Birthday
Thursday was Taylor’s birthday. Even though he turned the big 18, we still threw him a family birthday party. 😉 Graduation was later that evening, followed by Project Graduation that lasted all night long. That’s quite the birthday party. 🙂 Here are some pics from our family party. Taylor chose the colors black and red in honor of it being Graduation as well. I tried to incorporate the “Yukon Miller”. 🙂
The kids were funny. When they all got up that morning they kept asking about Taylor’s birthday and wondering if we were going to have a party. When Hunter came down he said, “This isn’t the kind of party I had in mind”. I sent Taylor off to run some errands, and then announced we had work to do. The kids were very excited and after it was all finished, Hunter announced, “Now this is more like it!!” I’m guessing they aren’t going to let me get away with not decorating for birthdays EVER again. 😉
Happy 18th Birthday Taylor!!! We love you!!
Our Grad
As part of Taylor’s “Senior” photos, I wanted to get some pictures of him doing something he enjoyed doing. So we headed over to the skate park with cap and gown in tow for a little photo session. We learned pretty quick that there is not a whole lot of time to mess with settings when trying to capture Taylor on the move…. 😉
This first set is by me….
And this next capture was made by Brian…
And one more by me…
A few more photos from today
Here are a few more photos we took this afternoon. 🙂
An Important Day
Today Taylor was ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood, to the office of Elder. I couldn’t help my thoughts drifting back almost 18 years ago when Brian took him in his arms and gave him a name and blessing. The years have slipped by so quickly. My sweet little baby is now grown, and I’m not exactly sure when that happened. 🙂
